Check your e-Fatura before it locks.
Drop the invoice list you export from Portal e-Fatura. You'll see which invoices are still waiting for a category, what each deduction is worth against its legal limit, and how long you have to fix them (the next deadline is 1 March 2027).
Your file never leaves this device. It's read and added up inside this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, sent to a server or logged, and we never ask for your Portal das Finanças password.

Questions
- How do I export the CSV from e-Fatura?
- Log in at faturas.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt with your NIF and password, open Consultar Faturas (as Adquirente, the buyer), set the dates you want, search, then click 'Obter dados para Excel'. You get a .csv file. Drop it here as it is — opening and re-saving it in Excel can change its format.
- Is my file sent anywhere?
- No. The file is read and added up inside this browser tab. Nothing from it — no names, NIFs, invoice numbers or amounts — is uploaded, stored or logged. Closing the tab forgets everything. Our analytics only learn that a file was read, roughly how many invoices it had and whether any were pending.
- Why are some of my invoices missing?
- e-Fatura lists only the newest 300 documents per search. If you have more, export a few months at a time and drop all the files here together; invoices that appear in two files are counted once. Invoices a seller hasn't reported yet aren't in the export either; sellers should report by the 5th of the next month, but late ones do turn up. Electronic rent receipts may not be in this export at all.
- What is a pending invoice?
- An invoice e-Fatura couldn't place in a deduction category on its own: the seller works in more than one sector or, if you're self-employed, you need to say whether it was a business or a personal expense. Left unclassified, it may count only as a general expense or not at all, so pick the sector on Portal e-Fatura before the deadline. The checker shows them first.
- Is the estimate what I'll get back?
- It's what this taxpayer's invoices are worth against each category's limit, leaving out pending invoices. Your final IRS also depends on your income (health, education, rent, care homes, VAT back and some other deductions share an overall ceiling above a modest income), on your household (single parents get a higher general-expenses rate and limit) and on invoices still to come. Use the IRS check for the full calculation.
- Is this tax advice?
- No — it's information about your own invoices. If something looks wrong, fix the category on Portal e-Fatura or ask a contabilista.
